"Orso On Bike" based in Castelnuovo dell'Abate, a small medieval hamlet in the municipality of Montalcino, organizes fun bicycle holidays offering guided itineraries on mountain bikes and cycling tourism. The tours take place in the magnificent countryside around Siena and, more precisely, in the Val d'Orcia spanning the unlimited splendid scenery around Montalcino, Castiglione d'Orcia, Radicofani, San Quirico and Pienza.
It is also possible to organize excursions in other areas such as the Chianti Classico, Nobile di Montepulciano, Monte Amiata, Val di Merse around Siena, and all the way out to the Maremma at the seaside and the distant "castentinesi" woods. We have selected 6 routes, for a total length of about 200 km, to let you discover such a charming land, cherishing you with tasty, amusing stops in the local wineries' cellars and in the dairy farms.
Our professional expertise, a team of guides graduated at the National School for Mountain Bike Trainers, will accompany you in this exciting discovery.New this year: a series of excursions made up of relaxing paved roads together with dirt offroads which allow you to pedal along the ridges of hills in the Val d'Orcia and the "Crete Senesi". The hills are never too steep, and the distances vary from 40 km to 80 or 90 km for the more advanced cyclists.

Tuscany's climate is truly ideal for a bicycle holiday. The best periods of the year for such holidays are from March to June and from September to November, although it is certainly possible to hope on your bike and tour through Tuscany any time of the year. There are actually excursions scheduled during the winter as the area around Pienza benefits from a mild climate.
